02/24/2009 - Toronto, ON (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani both scored 26 points to lead six double-digit scorers, as the Toronto Raptors hung on to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 118-110, at Air Canada Centre.

Anthony Parker added 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out six assists for the Raptors, who has won four of its last six outings. Jose Calderon ended with 15 points and 13 helpers, while Jason Kapono added 11 points off the bench in the win.

Minnesota was paced by Randy Foye, who finished with 25 points, including five three-pointers. Ryan Gomes ended with 23 points for the Wolves, who have dropped three straight games. Kevin Love added 15 points, while Sebastian Telfair finished with 12 points and Mike Miller grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds in defeat.

After Miller's jumper tied the game at 84 early in the final quarter, Toronto used a 9-2 run to build a seven-point cushion. Parker's three-point play culminated the spurt with under 10 minutes remaining.

Kevin Ollie's jumper with just over 7 1/2 minutes remaining cut the margin to three, 97-94. But the Raptors outscored Minnesota 6-1 in the following minute to extend their lead to eight, 103-95.

The Wolves fired back with six consecutive points to cut the gap to two, 103-101, with about 5 1/2 minutes to go.

Ahead 105-103, Toronto essentially sealed the win with an 11-3 surge. Parker topped off the run with a trey from the corner with 1 1/2 minutes left.

Trailing 6-4 early in the contest, Minnesota took control of the quarter with a 21-7 run to go ahead by 12, 25-13. Love and Gomes combined to score 12 points during the surge, which was capped off with a Foye three-pointer with 5:18 to go.

The Timberwolves, who led by as many as 14 in the period, took a 37-25 advantage into the second frame.

Down 49-33 with under eight minutes until half, Toronto found their groove and cut the gap to one, 51-50, with a 17-2 spurt. Bargnani tallied eight points during the run, which he topped off with a pair of foul shots.

During the less than six-minute surge by the Raptors, Minnesota shot a measly 1-of-9 from the field. But they held onto a 56-52 edge going into the locker room. Bargnani had 13 points in the half on a 4-of-8 shooting performance from the field.

Toronto carried its momentum from the end of the first half over into the third period. The Raptors started the third frame with a 13-4 run to take their first lead since early in the first quarter. Calderon stole the ball from Foye and hit Bargnani for a deuce to culminate the spurt. But the Wolves fought back with a surge of their own.

Minnesota responded with an 11-2 spurt to take a 71-67 lead with under seven minutes remaining. Foye hit two shots from beyond the arc to start the run, while Gomes capped it with a three-point play and a layup.

The Raptors closed the stanza on a strong note and held onto a 84-82 advantage after 36 minutes of play.

Michael Vick is back, Brett Favre isn't and the NFC East remains the best division in the NFC, maybe in all of football.

As players start to gather for the start of another season, some things change and some stay the same in the world of the NFL.

Bet 2010 Super Bowl Odds

The NFC East has been the dominant division in the National Conference for a while, despite limited playoff success, save for the New York Giants surprise Super Bowl win two seasons ago.

Hell, there's a generation of kids in Texas who have never seen the Cowboys win a playoff game (last win was in 1996).

But collectively, the Giants, Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins (well, maybe not so much the Redskins) are as good as a division gets in an NFC conference that has struggled to stay competitive with the AFC side.

Sports bettors have both acknowledged the NFC East's dominance, as one glance at the NFL future odds menu will show.

Looking over the NFL betting odds at online sports book MySportsbook.com we see the top three teams listed to win the NFC Championship are all from the NFC East:

Dallas Cowboys - 7 - 1

Philadelphia Eagles - 13 - 2

New York Giants - 9 - 2

Slotting in behind these three are two teams from the NFC North: the Minnesota Vikings (15-2) and the Chicago Bears (10-1).

Again, despite the lack of recent playoff success, the Dallas Cowboys are popular with the sports betting community, as they hold 14% of all the money wagered on who will win the NFC Championship.

So far, the New York Giants are the bettors' favorite to represent their conference in the Super Bowl, as they have 24% of the overall NFC Championship betting volume.

And what about the Philadelphia Eagles? For the most part, the Eagles had a very productive offseason, the kind that could bring them back to the top.

They had a good draft adding the likes of WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy.

Unfortunately, the team received a blow when long-time defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away on Tuesday.

But this team will make a real run at the division title this year. Going into the regular season, Philly is listed at +240 to win the division.

Last season the Eagles were 9-6-1 SU and 10-6 ATS.

Teams from the NFC East will play teams from the AFC West in the regular season and the Eagles haven't really been a good bet in the last 20 games against the likes of San Diego, Oakland, K.C. and Denver, only going 8-12 ATS.

Two seasons removed from that Super Bowl title, the New York Giants see themselves listed as the odds-on favorite in NFC East championship futures at +162.

Plaxico Burress is gone and with him all the bad publicity surrounding the gun in the sweatpants incident, but can they replace him in the offense?

Last season the Giants were a very reliable bet going 12-4 ATS.

In the Giants' last 20 games against fellow teams from the NFC East; they are 13-7 ATS.

Dallas is listed at +240 to win the division.

Dallas went 9-7 SU and 7-9 ATS last season and with the amount of talent the Cowboys have, a similar performance won't do.

The Cowboys have been atrocious against divisional rivals, going 6-14 ATS in their last 20.

The Washington Redskins are longshots to win the division at +550.
