Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins forward Marco Sturm left Saturday's Game 1 against the Philadelphia Flyers with an apparent leg injury. In the opening minutes of the first period, Sturm went to check Flyers defenseman Matt Carle and got his leg tangled up. He attempted to skate toward the middle of the ice but fell to his knees, where he remained until play was stopped. Teammates had to help Sturm off the ice. The severity of his injury is unknown.

BOSTON (AP) -The last time the Philadelphia Flyers met the Boston Bruins in the playoffs, it was a matchup between two physical teams - the Broad Street Bullies vs. the Big Bad Bruins.

Now, 32 years later, both sides expect another hard-hitting series when their Eastern Conference semifinal starts Saturday. The team that does a better job of checking hard but staying out of the penalty box could have an edge.
