Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins forward Petteri Nokelainen left Tuesday's 5-2 loss to San Jose in the first period after suffering a serious eye injury. Nokelainen, who assisted on one of Milan Lucic's pair of first-period goals, was struck near his right eye by a puck which caused a gash near the eye. The young winger was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and while a specific prognosis was not available, Bruins head coach Claude Julien offered an update following the game.

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Boston Bruins right wing Michael Ryder will miss the next two to three weeks after undergoing successful facial surgery. Ryder suffered multiple fractures of the frontal sinus when he took a high stick to the face during a February 5 game against Ottawa. The surgery was performed by Dr. Mack Cheney at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary on Monday. Ryder has 19 goals and 17 assists in 52 games this season for the Eastern Conference-leading Bruins.
