The Rangers acquired forward Oscar Lindberg from the Coyotes in exchange for forward Ethan Werek. Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes signed forward Brett Hextall, son of longtime NHL goaltender Ron Hextall, to an entry-level contract on Friday. Brett Hextall was drafted by the Coyotes in the sixth round in 2008 and has played three seasons for the University of North Dakota, helping the Fighting Sioux reach the Frozen Four twice. He registered 13 goals and 16 assists in 39 games as a junior this past season. Terms of his deal with the Coyotes were not disclosed.
